Fly Orchid Ophrys insectifera

The Fly Orchid Ophrys insectifera is an obvious insect mimic but, despite its common name, it attracts and is pollinated by Digger-wasps Argogorytes sp.

This plant was photographed in Kentish woodland more noted for its strong population of Lady Orchids Orchis purpurea.
